Process

My role in the project was as the lead designer. I was responsible for developing the ID and how the unit would function. I also worked closely with engineers to finalize all the production details prior to tooling and production. Besides creating an aesthetic that was clean yet functional, the biggest and most challenging aspect of the design was its ability to resurface, reorientate and drain all without any input from the user. Getting the weight, center of mass and positioning of the driver correct was extremely critical in making these three features work as intended. Solving these design challenges involved a lot of testing and prototyping.
